In a recent report by the Los Angeles Times, medical marijuana services are examined in their entirety and reveal a huge potential for growth. New companies such as Speed Weed in southern California are offering medical marijuana patients a safer way to access their marijuana, and businesses a cheaper alternative to running a dispensary. There are currently hundreds of mobile marijuana businesses located sporadically throughout the Golden State; however, despite the sharp influx of popularity regarding the new service, many patients are still naive to its existence. “I still believe 75% of marijuana patients don’t know delivery is a thing,” said Speed Weed owner A.J. Gentile to the L.A Times. The owner claims that the new method is much safer than the conventionality of going to a brick and mortar dispensary, which is one of the reasons for his numerous female customers.
According to the Los Angeles Times, marijuana delivery services are gaining support from marijuana researchers and policy experts such as UCLA’s Mark Kleiman as well. Mark Kleiman had very similar sentiment when giving his analysis regarding the emerging medical marijuana delivery system.
